Delivering global foodservice in around 50 countries at more than 55,000 client locations on daily basis means we get detailed insights into consumer appetites and buying trends. 

food insightsSandwiches are still the quintessential lunch item in many of the territories we serve. But these menu powerhouses aren’t just for the midday meal. As work-based customers increasingly tell us ‘convenience’ is at the top of the list of what’s important to them –   the (not so) humble sandwich plays a huge part, particularly, when we are catering for western palettes. 

Across the group we make a huge investment in developing our food offerings. The Compass International Clients’ Programme (ICP) has been specifically developed to meet the needs of our clients who have a large international footprint. The ICP means we can work together to deliver evocative and innovative food service solutions in almost any territory across the globe – and that includes elevating our sandwiches to the best in the business. 

It’s great to see this dedication be rewarded and some of our most recent accolades were received in North America. 

To help celebrate the power of the sandwich, the Food Management journal launched an inaugural Best Sandwich competition.

They were looking for the best sandwiches in the following categories:

  • Classic
  • Vegetarian/Vegan
  • Global flavours
  • Regional flavours
  • Breakfast
  • Kid’s

As you might expect, when the call went out for entries, they received a truckload of tortas, a whole lotta banh mi, a brigade of bacon, potato chips for crunch, a healthy dollop of mayo and so many seasonal veggies and global hot sauces. 

So huge congratulations to all the Compass Group sandwiches recently featured in Food Management’s Best Sandwiches Lists!!

At the top of the page you’ll see Compass Group Canada’s The Yorkie featured at 10 locations in Toronto. Ingredients: Housemade grainy mustard and horseradish aioli, arugula, slow-roasted Alberta beef, Gruyere cheese, roasted mushrooms, beef drippings.
